Story

Dan's World began with a fifteen year-old boy named Dan, and his friends. Shortly the cast was joined by a talking dog named Boffy and a few evil teachers.

Over the first weekend, Dan went to visit Jeremy at his lab (his parent's garage), and was shown Jeremy's Teleform Device. The first test transformed Jeremy, and made his lab assistant, Will fat.

Dan and Will witnessed Dana crying. When asked why, Dana launched into the story of his cat, Grusome, who was hit by a car when Dana was a boy. Unknown to them, Will was tapped, and brought the story to a shadowy guy in a treehouse.

Boffy was scared by Wendy and Chad, the resident lovebirds, and snuck into the library to do some reading. He was caught by the homicidal librarian Mr. Parker, and only escaped with the help of Mandy.

Miss Smith, who was in a particularly bad mood, sent Dan to see the Guidance Counseler, Mrs. Forbes. She, in turn, sent Dan to the Principal, Mr. Spahn. Dan was sent off to Miss Kinzie's basement remedial English class, where he met Joe and Toby, two Junior High kids who looked up to him. He also had a run-in with a kid named Ash, who thought he was living in the world of Pokemon. Right on the heels of this, Willzilla began rampaging through the lunchroom. The fat cells from the Teleform Device mutated, causing him to become a monster. He ate Todd and Dana, sat on Boffy, and tore off Toby's head. Dan came up with a plan, where he extracted some blood from Willzilla, and Jeremy put the blood into the Teleform Device to extract the mutated fat cells. Jeremy then restored the others, with the exception of Toby, who nothing could be done for. Dan dumped the mutated fat on Miss Smith, getting his revenge, and at the same time angering Smith, Hark, and Jamie.

Ray moved to Dan's World and confused everybody. On a trip to the restroom, he discovered a black toilet and was grabbed by a strange tentacle. Unwisely, he kept this event to himself. Ray also became Ash's Pokemon, attacking Dan, and then having a battle with Boffy.

On the last day of school, Hark threatoned Dan with summer school and gave him and Todd detention. This was the day that Dan's casserole talked to him, and Visitor was introduced. Dan promised to help the alien find his spaceship. It was also revealed that Jamie (who has a mysterious grudge on both Dan and Dana) knows the story of Grusome. In an effort to escape detention, Dan invented a time machine, which was meant to deliver them to just before they got detention. Instead, it sent them ten years into the past, where they met past incarnations of Jeremy, Mr. Hark, and Mr. Spahn. Spahn and Hark had a conversation about some evil plan that would begin ten years later. Dan handed the time machine over to Jeremy at his request.

The expedition into the woods to find Visitor's ship began. The first expedition consisted of Dan, Visitor, Boffy, Todd, Ray and Jeremy. They ran into a crazy hermit named Nuts, who had seen the ship (and a big, black toilet), but couldn't remember where the ship crashed. Needless to say, Visitor didn't go home that afternoon.

After this, Jeremy's cousin Cory went on a button-pushing rampage that resulted in the destruction of the Teleform Device, and his shrinkage. Cory became really, really small, panicked, was kicked by Ray, and landed in his neighbor Jennifer's oatmeal. She ate him. He cut his way out with his pocket knife, leaving Jennifer scarred and angry. In the heat of her pain and confusion, she used a flyswatter on him. His remains were wisked away by Mrs. Slobb.

A few days later, Dan noticed everybody was gone. Boffy told him where everyone went, and was swiftly accosted by Ash. Finding that Ash really had no friends, Dan took it upon himself to mentor the young lad. In a startlingly ill-conceived plan, Dan introduced his new friend to the addictive computer game the Sims. Ash underwent a strange transformation as his obsession shifted. As Ash sank deeper into his new delusional world, Dan, Joe and Toby travelled into the woods in search of Visitor's ship. They found some twisted wreckage, but it appeared the ship had been dragged off. Nuts blamed the squirrels.

Upon returning to civilization, the friends stumbled upon a disturbing sight. Ash was trying to catch Boffy in a net. He'd gone too far this time, and they resolved to end his obsession. Unfortunately, their plan didn't work. After Ash threw a fit, Dan reinstalled his game. Visitor attempted to contact his home world, but got no answer. Dana's therapist gave him some bad advice, and he ended up traumatised by the Simmed-up Ash.

After this, summer vacation came to an end, and the School's Orientation was held. At this gathering, the new girl, Lisa, sewed Toby's head back on for him. Soon after, the kids were informed of the changes that would be taking place at their school. Principal Spahn was instigating a sweeping reform involving enforced learning, detention camps, and strict training programs. Instead of one of his propaganda videos, Dana's story about his cat was shown, humiliating Dana into such a state that he ran off to the school pond, where he vanished.

During the weekend, Lisa met Ash, Summer and Mandy became friends of sorts, and Jamie hired some new recruits. At the end of the weekend, Dana jumped Dan at the school pond, trying to kill him. He revealed that a mysterious stranger had claimed that Dan had kidnapped Gruesome, and planned to kill him. Dan assured him that it wasn't true, and promised he'd find some way to help.

When school finally started up, Dan found it drastically changed. The teachers were crueller, the rules were stricter, and worst of all... those who broke the rules would be locked away, seemingly forever. The first to disappear was Ray, who made the mistake of starting a food fight. Dan decided to organize a rebellion with the help of Joe and Toby. Todd refused to join. Their first order of business was to get Kinzie on their side, sneak into the library, and dig up some dirt on their principal. They found out that there was a very public incident ten years before, where a teacher named Mr. Fall was fired. After school, Dana reported that Jamie's new friends were mugging students.

Lisa loaned Ash the first Harry Potter book, and another strange transformation took place. SInce she felt responsible for this, she took it upon herself to be Ash's personal guardian and protect him from the teachers. Back at school, Smith took out her revenge on Dan, locking him in a cage and leaving him for dead. Jamie came along and gave him his freedom in exchange for an unnamed favor to be taken out sometime in the future. The guys visited Mr. Fall, who told them that he had taken the blame when Spahn tried his plans the first time. He gave them the name of Spahn's ex-wife, but she refused to talk with them.

Dan, while out taking a stroll, came across a future version of himself, who gave him a cryptic warning and then promptly died. Jeremy walked up to let Dan know the Time Machine was completed. They visited the future and found a very bleak vision of what was ahead of them. Jeremy's future self explained that Spahn, with the help of his son would soon take over the entire world. Upon returning to their own time, Jeremy joined the ranks of the rebellion, and figured out a way to get Miss Klu to talk. She explained that Spahn had always been evil, and that his plans indeed stretched towards world domination. This is when Dan went insane. He sought the help of Nuts, who taught him the finer art of insanity. He pestered everyone around him before finally tiring of his game, and getting back to work.

Dana came in late for class, and was whipped by Adams. After Dan found out, he organized a press conference to bring down the school. Toby got himself whipped so that they'd have proof to show everyone. Joe invited a reporter, and they quickly got the attention of Jamie and his goons. They dragged Todd to Camp, and broke up the press conference. Dan and Joe snuck into the Town Hall to bug the meeting. Adams took the blame for everything and was fired.

Then there was a brief interlude where Dan met his next-door neighbor Jinny, the cat-girl. Shortly after, Toby infiltrated Spahn's office to put a tap on Spahn's phone. After a narrow escape, Spahn figured out what was going on, and sent Jamie after Jeremy. He was stopped by Kinzie, who lost her job for protecting the guys. Jeremy gave himself up to save his friends. This was a considerable blow on Dan, who considered giving up the entire rebellion. He would have, if not for the audden appearance of Future Jeremy, who showed up to give them a pep talk.

After this, Lisa decided to capture Boffy for Ash so that he could have a Wizard's familiar. Dan put a quick stop to this, but Lisa came out of the experience with a serious crush on Ash. Back at school, the next plan to go into effect was created by Joe and Toby. They decided to burn the school flag to create a diversion so that Dan could sneak into Spahn's office. Unfortunately the plan had the added effect that Joe, Toby, and Ash all ended up in Camp. Dan made off with a stack of files that could possibly incriminate Spahn. But the question was... what to do with them?

Dan, Dana and Lisa decide to go back in time to rescue Gruesome. They replaced the cat with a well-crafted decoy (filled with ketchup) to put a kink in Jamie's schemes. Dana had remembered a forgotten part of his story-- that it was Jamie and Jamie's dad who had killed Gruesome. They transported the cat back to their own time, where he became fast friends with Boffy.

Jamie planted a book in Dan's locker, trying to ruin his reputation. Instead, Spahn befriended our hero, seriously giving him the creeps as he opened up to him about his plans. After Spahn threw Summer, Mandy, Lisa, and Dana into the Camp, Dan snapped. He finally let Spahn know exactly how he felt about him. Spahn lost his mind and decided to blow everyone up. Jamie briefly joined the fight, distracting the crazed principal for a few seconds before he ran off to safety. Dan (with Boffy's help) infiltrated the Camp and set everyone free. After a brief scuffle involving a vent and a rock, Spahn was knocked unconscious. Hark gave Joe the map to the bombs, and Joe went off to help Dan. Dan was caught in the explosion, but defused enough bombs to save everyone. Spahn was taken to prison, and everything went back to normal.
